Crystal Maiden, with her ice-themed powers, was one of the few heroes that represented the classic "mage" archetype with a bit of a sweet and innocent charm.

10. The Secret Power of "Roshan"

The infamous neutral boss Roshan has always been a part of Dota, but it wasn’t always clear how important he was. In Dota 1, Roshan dropped the Aegis of the Immortal, an item that granted a one-time resurrection, but the strategic importance of Roshan didn’t become fully realized until later versions of the map. Roshan was often ignored until late-game, but his presence on the map always added an interesting layer of tension.

Axe, the iconic tank hero, had an interesting transformation over time. His ability to Berserker’s Call (which forces enemies around him to attack him) was often underwhelming in Dota 1, but his power was all about the counterattack through his Culling Blade ultimate. This allowed Axe to easily finish off low-health heroes, but his early versions had some bugs that sometimes caused his Culling Blade to fail, making it a risky hero to play.

Dota’s Origins in Warcraft III: Dota originally started as a custom map for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (the predecessor to Frozen Throne), but it gained massive popularity after the release of The Frozen Throne due to the introduction of more advanced map-making tools and better customization options. The full version of Frozen Throne was essential for the map to function and gain traction.

13. Panda Split is almost the same in WC3 Ladder. As a matter of fact, Pandaren Brewmaster might be the hero with the most skills being ported in dota: Drunken Haze, Drunken Brawler, Primal Split, Earth Panda Magic Immunity, Storm Panda Cyclone, Storm Panda Dispel Magic, Storm Panda Wind Walk, Fire Panda Immolation Aura. His first skill, Breath of Fire, was given to Dragon Knight, and while it no longer damages buildings its interaction with mechanical units remains the same.

The Introduction of the "Creps": In DotA, creeps are NPC units that march down lanes toward enemy bases. The design of these creeps—along with the focus on player-controlled heroes—became a defining element of the genre. 12. Secret Items and Hidden Shops

Dota 1 had "secret shops" hidden in the jungle where you could buy exclusive items.

Some items, like "Aegis of the Immortal", were initially consumables before being reworked into Roshan's drop.

And you could actually have a storage on inventory up to x3.

13.- Turn Rate Limitations Dota 1’s turn rate was locked by Warcraft 3’s engine, making certain heroes feel sluggish when repositioning. This is why Pudge and Tidehunter feel "slow" when turning.

This information is very important to take into account to know how long it takes approximately a hero to turn and cast a spell, when timing for ganking or ambushing or holding on to rege MP or low in HP TO STRIKE BACK!
