1. Version and Server
1.1 The latest StarCraft Patch, 220.127.116.11, is needed.
1.2 All Tournaments are played on iCCup's StarCraft server, The Abyss.
1.3 It is mandatory to play all Tournament matches with Anti-Hack (AH) on.
2. Participants and Tournament Sizes
2.1 The iCCup Administration reserves the Right of Admission for each and every official iCCup Tournament.
2.2 Only accounts that have been properly registered on the iCCup Website may participate in iCCup Tournaments.
2.3 Available Tournament sizes, depending on the ranks participating, are 8 /16 / 32 / 64 / 128 / 256 / 512.
2.4 By signing up for an iCCup Tournament, players confirm that they have read and understood these rules, and that they will abide by them.
3. Tournament System, Schedule and Matches
3.1 iCCup Tournaments consist of three stages: Sign up, Check-in and Tournament Start. Players must sign up and, at the appropriate time, check-in for the Tournament they wish to participate in.
3.2 All relevant Tournament Information will be conveyed to the players by the Admin hosting the Tournament:
— whether it is a free Tournament or whether there is a Pay-in; if there is, how many points the Pay-in is;
— how many points are awarded to the Winner/Runner-up/3rd Place etc;
— which maps will be used during the Tournament;
— how many victories are needed to advance to the next stage (Bo1, Bo3 or Bo5).
3.3 Every match has to be played as soon as possible, to ensure smooth progress of the Tournament. The Admin hosting the Tournament is the only one who may postpone a match or decide when a W/O (Walkover) is being given.
3.4 Every match must be played on the map specified by the Admin hosting the Tour; in Bo3 or Bo5 rounds, the loser of the game just played picks the map for the next match; only maps contained in the official iCCup MapPack are allowed to be used in Tournaments; matches played on any other map are invalid. The only exception to this rule is the choosing of an Obs-type map, which might not be part of the MapPack yet, by an official iCCup-Streamer or-Caster.
3.5 Players who have checked-in for a Tournament must be present in the channel and ready to commence their matches (i.e. not afk) as soon as the Tournament has started, regardless of the original start time given on the Tournament Info Webpage. Failure to commence a match in time will result in the player's disqualification and in a fine as described in chapter '8. Sanctions'.
3.6 The winner of a match has either destroyed all his opponent's buildings, or the opponent has left the game, conceding victory.
In the case of a Terran player (who has no working economy) floating his buildings and thus considerably delaying the outcome of a game or even denying victory to his opponent, the opponent may leave the game and submit a replay to the Tournament Host, to decide upon the matter.
3.7 If a disconnect occurs during the first two minutes of a Tournament match, the opponents will rematch, regardless of who had the advantage at the time of disconnection.
3.8 If a disconnect occurs at any later time during a Tournament match, the opponents have either to agree on who the match winner is or to present a replay for the Tournament Host to rule on the matter; should the Admin not be able to determine beyond doubt that one or the other player was to win the game, a rematch using the same map and races will be played.
3.9 If a disconnect occurs during a match and one of the players does not return to the Tournaments channel within five minutes, his opponent will be declared match winner. This applies to Bo1, Bo3 and Bo5 matches, so that the match winner will advance to the next stage of the Tournament, regardless of the score in the current Bo3- or Bo5-match.
3.10 If a player repeatedly suffers from disconnection during Tournament matches, the Tournament Host may disqualify him after the third disconnect. In this case, the disconnected player will be reimbursed his pay-in for the Tournament, if the disconnects have occurred in the first round of the Tournament. Players having been disqualified for repeated disconnects in later stages of the Tournament will not be reimbursed their Pay-ins.
3.11 Private observers may watch any given Tournament match, if both players agree.
3.12 iCCup Tournament Admins and official iCCup-Streamers/-Casters may observe any given Tournament match; agreement of the players is not needed in this case. Any player refusing this can be disqualified from the Tournament at the discretion of the Tournament Host.
3.13 After every single Tournament game, the victorious player has to immediately report his win and submit the game replay on the Tournament Grid Webpage. Should the webpage be non-functional, the winner has to report his victory and submit the match replay to the Tournament Host.
3.14 Submitting a fake replay or no replay at all will result in the offending player's disqualification from the Tournament, unless the Tournament Host decides there has been valid reason for not submitting a replay.
3.15 Any player may pause a Tournament match at any given time, without offering an explanation; his opponent may un-pause the game at any given time, without offering an explanation. Hence it is advisable to inform an opponent why a game is paused (toilet, phone etc), to avoid disharmony.
3.16 If a player is busy or urgently needs to leave his computer during a Tournament, he has to contact the Tournament Host to explain the reason for the interruption. The Tournament Host, at his discretion, may then postpone the player's next match for a maximum of 30 minutes.
This rule applies only to the time between matches; should a player need to leave his computer during an ongoing match for more than five minutes, he has to concede victory of the ongoing match to his opponent. If this occurs during a Bo3 or Bo5 match, the Tournament Host may postpone the next game of the Bo3/Bo5 for a maximum of 30 minutes, at his discretion.
4. Match Settings
4.1 All Tournament matches must be played in 'Melee' mode; if all players agree, a ladder match may be played in 'One on One' mode for 1v1 and in 'Top vs Bottom' mode for 2v2. Anyway once the game has been played, players lose the right to complaint about match setting.
4.2 All Tournament matches must be played on speed setting '7 – Fastest'.
4.3 Players may change their races at any time before a match, even after the countdown has been initiated.
5. Prohibited Glitches and Tricks
Use of the following glitches or tricks will result in disqualification from the Tournament of the player using them, and in a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments, for the first offence. Second offenders will be sanctioned with disqualification from the Tournament and a permanent ban from official iCCup Tournaments.
5.1 Bug which allows ground units to remain stacked while moving or attacking
5.2 Allied Mines
5.3 Gas Walk, to get through blocked entrances or ramps (an incredibly common Bug, using a shift-click on gas near opponent’s blocked entrance to slide through any Unit or Building blocking the ramp)
5.4 Cargo Glitch (allows Worker Units to be pressed through any obstacle by repeatedly pressing Hotkey 'C', to return cargo)
6. Permitted Glitches and Tricks
6.1 Pressing-through of Units (not to be mistaken for 'Cargo Glitch' or 'Gas Walk')
6.2 Drops to defuse Mines
6.3 Mineral Walk
6.4 Manner Pylon
6.5 Lurker 'Hold' Position
6.6 Observer-over-Turret (you can fix it by pressing stop on the turret)
6.7 Stacking air units
7.1 Disqualification may be current or subsequent.
7.2 'Current Disqualification' means discharging a player during an ongoing Tournament.
7.3 'Subsequent Disqualification' means discharging a player after a Tournament has already ended; this is possible up to seven days after the day the Tournament has been held.
7.4 Disqualification of a player has no effect on the results of matches that player has played in earlier stages of the Tournament.
7.5 After the Tournament has ended, a list of disqualified players will be published in the Tournament Forum by the Tournament Host; this list will state the reason/s for the disqualification and will be posted only for extraordinary disqualification reasons, not for 'No-shows'.
7.6 Only the Tournament Host may disqualify players. Tournament Host is the Tournament Admin who has created the Tournament, and is listed first on the Admin List in the Tournament Report.
7.7 Reasons for the Disqualification of a Player:
7.7.1 — Forbidden Reception (i.e. watching a live stream of a match one is playing oneself);
.7.7.2 — intentional Disconnect;
7.7.3 — Usage of Hacking/Cheating Software;
7.7.4 — Usage of Match Settings differing from those stated in these Tournament Rules;
7.7.5 — Usage of Maps which are not part of the official iCCup MapPack;
7.7.6 — playing a Tournament Game with an account not represented on the Grid;
7.7.7 — signing up for a Tournament with multiple Accounts;
7.7.8 — playing a Tournament Game with an Account not belonging to oneself;
7.7.9 — asking an opponent to intentionally lose a Tournament game;
7.7.10 — uploading of fake Replays or not submitting a Replay at all;
7.7.11 — Bad Manners or disrespectful attitude towards Tournament officials or other players;
7.7.12 — transferring stats to or from an account that is signed up for an ongoing Tournament.
8.1 Forbidden Reception will be punished with a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be banned from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season. Third Offenders will be permanently excluded from official iCCup Tournaments.
8.2 Intentionally disconnecting from a Tournament game will be punished with disqualification from the Tournament.
8.3 Usage of Hacking/Cheating Software will be punished with a ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be permanently excluded from official iCCup Tournaments. Furthermore, players who are caught using cheating/hacking software during an official iCCup Tournament will have the account registered for the Tournament cleared and locked.
8.4 Usage of Match Settings differing from Tournament Standard Settings will be punished with disqualification from the Tournament.
8.5 Usage of Maps which are not part of the official iCCup MapPack will be punished with disqualification from the Tournament.
8.6 Playing a Tournament match with an Account not represented on the Grid will be punished with a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be banned from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season and the following Season. Third Offenders will be permanently excluded from official iCCup Tournaments.
8.7 Signing up for a Tournament with multiple Accounts will be punished with a ban from participating in official Tournaments for 2 weeks, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be excluded from official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season and will have the stats of all accounts registered for the Tournament cleared.
8.8 Playing a Tournament match with an Account not belonging to oneself will be punished with a ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season; this applies to the account registered for the Tournament and the highest-ranked account of the substitute player. Additionally, the stats of the account registered for the Tournament and the stats of the highest-ranked account of the substitute player will be cleared. Upon second offence, both aforementioned accounts will be permanently excluded from participating in official iCCup Tournaments; additionally, they will both be cleared.
8.9 Asking an opponent to intentionally lose a Tournament match will be punished with disqualification from the Tournament and a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments.
8.10 Uploading of fake Replays or not submitting a Replay at all will be punished with a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be banned from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season and the following Season. Third Offenders will be permanently excluded from official iCCup Tournaments.
8.11 Bad Manners or disrespectful attitude towards Tournament officials or other players will be punished with a two-week ban from participating in official iCCup Tournaments, for the first offence. Second Offenders will be banned from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season. Third Offenders will be banned from participating in official iCCup Tournaments for the remainder of the ongoing Season and the following Season. Fourth Offenders will be permanently excluded from official iCCup Tournaments. Furthermore, standard iCCup BM Rules will be applied.
8.12 Transferring stats to or from an account that is signed up for an ongoing iCCup Tournament will be punished by clearing the stats of both accounts.
8.13 Players who are not prepared to play their matches when the Tournament starts (regardless of the time published on the Tournament Info Webpage) will be waited upon for ten minutes (five minutes after first round); after this waiting period has ended they will be fined 150 Ladder Points in addition to the regular Pay-in for the Tournament, and their opponents will be advanced to the next round. It does not matter if the player is offline, in another channel, in a game or in the Tournaments channel.
9. Refereeing of Tournaments
9.1 The Tournament Host in his function as Referee of the Tournament cannot participate in the Tournament; neither can any other Tournament Admin listed as an Admin for the Tournament.
9.2 The Tournament Host or any other Tournament Admin listed as an Admin for the Tournament must be present in the Tournament channel for every second of the Tournament's duration.
9.3 Players have to address the Tournament Host immediately, should a problem arise.
9.4 The rulings of the Tournament Host should be discussed during an ongoing Tournament for a few minutes only. If no agreement can be reached within these few minutes the player may file a complaint in the CAA Forum, after the conclusion of the Tournament.
9.5 Disqualifications of players are decided and announced by the Tournament Host only.
9.6 Subsequent disqualifications may be discussed in private between the Tournament Host and any Admin of any Section he asks for assistance. Final ruling will be decided upon by the Tournament Host, who will then oublish his decision.
10. Publicity Principle ('Smurfing')
10.1 It's forbidden to join a Tour if any of the player's accounts exceeds the Tournament rank limit.
A player has two accounts: Account A with 5500 points and Account B with 4700 points. He may join a C-/C/C+ rank tour with any of them.
A player has two accounts: Account A with 5500 points and Account B with 6000 points. He can not join a C-/C/C+ rank tour with any of his accounts.
10.2 The designated amount of points for ranked tournaments can be changed if not enough players sing up for the tour. Any changes will be announced before the tournament starts. The pay-in will be refunded in these cases.
10.3 If rule 10.1 is being broken, the user will be punished with the clear stats of the account signed in the Tour (and at Admin's discretion the highest account also) for the first offense. A two weeks ban will be issued for the second offense and a permanent ban for the third.
11. 2vs2 Tournaments
All rules elaborated above apply to 2vs2 Tournaments as well, although obviously in the 2vs2-adapted form, i.e. a 2vs2 Team is considered to be a 'Player', as far as the Tournament Rules are concerned. Exceptions are Sanctions against a player of a 2vs2 Team, when it is clear that the second player of the Team had no way of knowing that his ally has violated the Tournament Rules.
12. Non-official Tournaments
12.1 Non-official Tournaments are called User Tournaments.
12.2 Ladder Points are not awarded for User Tournaments.
12.3 The iCCup Administration usually does not interfere with User Tournaments, but reserves the right to do so, should it be deemed necessary by authorized iCCup Administration personnel.
12.4 Any user creating a private Tournament is responsible for its proper execution; he may set the Tournament Parameters (i.e. Number of Participants, Rank-/Country-Limitations etc) as he sees fit. Certain basic rules must be obeyed however:
— faking Tournaments is prohibited;
— faking Tournament Grids is prohibited;
— creating a Tournament and not being present as host at the given time is prohibited;
— using the channel 'Tournaments' for User Tours is prohibited; this channel is reserved for official iCCup Tournaments only
12.5 Non-compliance with above stated basic rules will be sanctioned as follows:
— 1st Offence: Issue of a Warning and deletion of the User Tournament;
— 2nd Offence: Deletion of the User Tournament and prohibition to create any other User Tournaments for one month;
— 3rd Offence: Deletion of the User Tournament and prohibition to create any other User Tournaments for three months;
— 4th Offence: Deletion of the User Tournament and permanent prohibition to create User Tournaments.
12.6 Commercial Tournaments and Events with Monetary or Material Prizes on the iCCup Server may only be held with prior authorization by the iCCup Administration.
12.7 The iCCup Administration reserves the right to
— refuse without justification to hold Tournaments or other Events;
— terminate an announced or commenced Tournament or Event if rules have been violated;
— exclude without justification any player from participating;
— be present in the Tournament/Event channel;
— detail an observer for any game in any stage of the Tournament/Event;
— broadcast its own video or radio coverage of the Tournament or Event;
— produce its own reviews and/or news articles about the Tournament or Event;
— announce the results of the Tournament or Event;
— request a complete set of free-of-charge replays of the Tournament or Event;
— request any and every information about the Tournament or Event;
— deny any and every content in any form of publishing where a third party asks for any kind of remuneration;
— ban from its website and/or game servers any and every person asking for any kind of remuneration.
12.8 The iCCup Administration is not liable for
— interruption or termination of a Tournament or Event resulting from technical malfunction of any of the servers;
— fraudulent behaviour of third party Tournament or Event Organizers towards Tournament or Event Participants.
12.9 The iCCup Administration is not responsible for
— payments or delivery of prizes to Tournament or Event Winners.
In case of unforeseeable and/or unforeseen circumstances the iCCup Administration reserves the right to modify these Rules without justification or prior announcement.
Alterations of these Rules are not retroactive, i.e. have no effect on Tournaments or Events having been held prior to the alteration.
