Uncharted: Uncharted is an American action adventure film directed by Reuben Fleischer and written by Rafe Judkins, John Rosenberg and Mark Walker and written by Rafe Judkins, Art Macroom and Matt Holloway. The film tells the origin story of Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the Uncharted video game series created by Naughty Dog. Sony Pictures Releasing planned to release the film in theaters in the United States on July 16, 2021 in IMAX format on 70 mm film, but in January 2021 the release was postponed to February 10, 2022. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who criticized the scrypt, cast, lack of originality, drew unfavorable comparisons to video games, although Hollands performance received some praise. The film grossed $401 million worldwide

Plot

Nathan Drake(Tom Holland)and his older brother Sam, pupils of a Boston Catholic orphanage, are fond of stories about the treasures of travelers and pirates, and consider themselves the likely descendants of the English captain Francis Drake. Together they enter the exhibition where the map of Magellans first circumnavigation of the world is kept.Sam tells Nate that Magellan didnt actually complete it

10 years later, Nate works as a bartender, stealing jewelry from wealthy patrons. Sam, meanwhile, never got in touch with Nate live Nates only connection to him is the postcards Sam occasionally sends to his brother. At a bar he is met by treasure hunter Victor Sully Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) He gives Nathan his business card promising an interesting business. Nate arrives to retrieve the bracelet he stole from a bar patron, and Sally lets him in on her plan: Magellan died in the Philippines before he completed his world tour and it was continued by his followerand the gold looted on the expedition was lost.

Filming

The filming period began on March 16 and began filming in areas around Berlin. The film was expected to be produced at Babelsberg Studio but was later moved to Spain. Filming of the film was halted in mid-March 2020 due to the outbreak of the COVID-19. Filming was believed to have resumed on July 15 however a Sony spokesperson confirmed to IGN that production on the film has yet to resume and that they are currently in pre-production and hope to start soon. Production on the film resumed on July 20 in areas around Germany with social distancing and mask-wearing requirements on and off set
