Hi in this guide I will show you some tips and tricks how you can improve your gaming.

1.Learning by watching:

First of all you should start watching some pro games. A very useful website is www.gosugamers.net there you can find a lot clanwars from pro gamers. You can also go to Iccup there you can find also a lot of Replays.

If you like to watch a game just klick “Download this replay” and check “open with Warcraft III”

image

(I am sorry for that german picture but should look like this if you use Mozilla Firefox)

Now the Replay should start automatically. If not, just download the replay normally and copy it into the Warcraft replay folder. Now start Warcraft go to “Single Player" --> "View Replay” and select your replay what you want to watch

If you do not want to watch alone some replay you can also watch a shout cast with a lot of useful commends.

Just take a look on this site: www.gamestah.com there you can find a lot of them. The most of them are made by TobiWanKenobi so you can also go to his own website www.wanstop.net there are all of his shout cast as Youtube video.

2.Use Customkeys

You may ask yourself right now “how the fuck they can react that fast?!”. The answer is simple… they use customkeys :D

It is very difficult to play a hero when his spells are like

First spell: “b”

Second spell: “r”

Third spell: “l”

Fourth spell: “g”

Like in this case every spell is all over the keyboard and it makes you difficult to use them fast.

With customkeys you can simply define by your own how the spells should be.

I for example have every hero’s spells on QWER, there are on one place together and they do not change for every other hero.

There are a lot of Customkeys programs, personally I use Dr. Jones customkey generator.

First of all select the latest DotA map. Now select a hotkey for every spell and action order. Additional you can set customkeys for every single shop in DotA.

Now hit generate and download the “CustomKeys.txt” file and copy them into your Warcraft III direction.

After you finish that, start your Warcraft III and select “Options”  “Gameplay” and enable

* Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

* Always show Health Bars

image

For inventory hotkeys you can use the tool what is implemented in the “Iccup luncher” just click on Warcraft and select “Remap Inventory “. Now you can every slot select with a key you want.

Personally I do not use it because it supports no mouse keys.

That’s why I use wc3isk

With that simple tool you can easily activate your items with your mouse.

3.Gameplay

Always remember Dota is a team game so you shouldn’t play every time a hardcore carry when 3 carry’s already picked. Try to ask what your team mate’s goanna pick and pick something what could help them.

You should also try to find a team, where you can play together with them.

By the way it makes a lot of fun to play with some international player. I played for a while with 3 Russian players, I did not understand a single word and I think they also did not understand me, but with some Dota slang I was able to play, with them, some coordinated games.

If you want to find a team just make a post here in the ICCup forum.

At the end I will not explain you how to “Lasthit” or “denie” that is just too much basic. If you never hear that words before you should Google them right now :D

I hope this guide helps you to play some skilled games at ICCup.

Regards

Ghost

The remaping of inventory keys is certainly a priority, else you can't keep up with the pace in teambattles...

remapping not useful, if u play for more than 5 years you'll remember every skill hot key ^^

the problem is i'm too used up to the regular hotkeys so when i put customkeys it just confuses me even more. It can take some time to adapt but after that it's very useful.
