Bullet Train is an American action comedy film directed by David Leitch and written by Zach Olkiewicz. The film is based on the novel Killer Train written by Kotaro Isaka. The plot tells about a contract killer who confronts enemies while riding a Japanese express.

The world premiere of Faster than a Bullet took place on July 18, 2022 in Paris, and the film was released in the United States on August 5. The film grossed $211 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics.

Plot

The literary basis of the scrypt was the novel by the Japanese writer Kotaro Isaki <<Killer Train>>. Five assassins find themselves on the same bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka. They learn that their missions are connected and try to figure out who brought them together and why.

Production and release

Faster than a Bullet was originally developed by Antoine Fuqua through his Fuqua Films banner. He originally planned to make a violent action thriller in the vein of Die Hard (1988), but during development the project turned into a light action comedy.
