It was a map created from the optimized map source code for „Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos“. July 1, 2003 published the famous addition — »Warcraft III: the Frozen Throne" (TFT). After the release of" DotA Allstars 6.10", IceFrog has done a huge amount of work – he fixed a large number of bugs and game balance flaws. Its goal was to add a UMS-card, originally created simply for entertainment, a competitive element that would allow you to actively promote the card in a variety of tournaments. The desire of the developer has become a reliable Foundation for the development of DotA as a eSports discipline. As the balance improved, a number of new characters, items, and models were added, which also increased the pleasure of the game. Compared with 6.27, and 6.28 version and almost nothing changed in terms of game balance. The only change was the addition of two new characters. There were rumors that IceFrog released it in a hurry, in order to cool the fervor of fans eager to see the version 6.30.

After the tournament, the work on the map continued. In version 6.28, IceFrog added two new characters: Witch Doctor and Spectre ( Spectre, immediately after the players saw it, considered useless). Then a new, updated version 6.27 b was released, which was declared official for all tournaments. It became the second stable version of the game after 5.84.

Since IceFrog has been working on new versions of one – the process has progressed quite slowly. Therefore, version 6.27 existed for quite a long time-until February 2006. But here is, after long and painstaking work, 6.27??? saw light. It included all the positive changes and contained a minimum of bugs, becoming a model, a new benchmark in the world of DotA in terms of game balance.

In version 6.20 continued the process of nerf many characters, in addition, in this version of IceFrog added DotA extremely popular at the time of Prince Arthas (Prince Arthas) from the company «WC3:TFT». Neichus took over the duties of the project leader. Having released several new versions of the map, Neichus was disappointed in the project and left it, and IceFrog took the place of project Manager.On February 28, 2005, a long time after the release of DotA Allstars 6.00 and after Guinsoo announced its withdrawal from the mod, two new players – Neichus and IceFrog became official developers and continued the process of improving DotA from version 6.01. Neichus started working on DotA as early as October 2004, after which it was joined by IceFrog. Rumors had it that Guinsoo went into World of Warcraft, but no one knew exactly where it went.

Picking up the pieces: the Era of 6.1 x

IGS (International Gaming Syndicate) for the first time began To hold DotA tournaments in 2004. Only 20 teams took part in the first season. The second season counted already as much as 45 teams!
